RAILNSCALE was born from a simple idea: if the model doesn’t exist, we will create it ourselves.

Founded by two model railway enthusiasts from the Netherlands, the journey began in 2009 with a personal layout and a growing frustration that many details and vehicles simply weren’t available in N-scale (1:160). What started as small experiments and kitbashing soon evolved into designing our own models.

The arrival of 3D printing changed everything. It allowed us to turn ideas into highly detailed, accurate scale models and marked the real beginning of RAILNSCALE as a design-driven brand. In August 2013, RAILNSCALE was officially founded.

In January 2019, my co-founder Joris Hoogelander passed away. From that moment on, I continued RAILNSCALE on my own, determined to carry forward what we had built together.

Since then, the goal has remained unchanged: to fill the gaps in the model railway world with unique, carefully designed models across different eras. What began with vehicles from the 1920–1940 period has grown into a much broader range.

Today, RAILNSCALE Collectibles has become a key part of that evolution, with over 200 different ready-painted N-scale models. Thanks to our long-term cooperation with DM-Toys, production and availability are stable and reliable, ensuring our models remain available well beyond limited production runs.

RAILNSCALE has grown into a lasting name within the model railway hobby—built on detail, consistency, and a passion for creating what is missing.
